My hair routine changes depending on where I am in the world, but there are a few rules I always follow. Wash your hair twice a week with shampoo and conditioner. I am currently using Moroccan oil. Since my hair is naturally wavy, I found it best not to wash my hair too often to allow it to retain its moisture and natural oils.
Other than that, I don’t use too many products on my hair because I need clean hair for my work as a model. [a lot of product] For hair at work. But when I get home [in Myanmar], I use two traditional Burmese hair care ingredients. They are often used together to make a Burmese shampoo known as Taya U Kim Bun. Helps strengthen and soothe itchy scalp. The Burmese people also believe that washing their hair with tayo kimbung wards off bad luck and bestows dignified blessings.
To prepare your own treatment, soak the two ingredients in water for 30 minutes and mix with your fingers to create a slippery, slightly frothy mix. Rinse. Doing this every week or so will make your hair look thicker and shinier. My mother used to do it for my hair when I was back in Myanmar.
