Two sisters moved their hair and nail business to Barron, one from Rice Lake and one from Lac, now operating in their new location at 319 E. La Salle Ave.
Samantha and Peter Espeses opened the Wild Roots Salon on January 2, 2023 in a 427-square-foot space at 319 E. La Salle Ave. in a building owned by Brian and Kate Rickenberg.
Samantha Espeses said her husband and Riekenberg employees have done remodeling work to prepare the salon for business.
“I did some similar things to the places I worked in Armena and Rice Lake and incorporated my own ideas,” she said on Friday, Jan. 20.
We offer a variety of hair services including cuts, colors and eyebrow waxing. The hair salon is open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Espeseth’s sister, Victoria Yates, of Lac, Wisconsin, also opened Moon Flower Nail Lounge in the same location. Yates has Monday and Thursday hours, Espeseth said, and she hopes to expand those hours in the future.
Both sisters have built a customer base at their previous work locations and hope to attract new customers at their downtown Barron location.
Mr. and Mrs. Espeses live in Barron, so moving to Barron made sense.
“We’re two minutes from home and near our kids’ school,” said Samantha.
Originally from Richland Center, Samantha moved to Barron County in 2010. Her husband, from Prairie Farm, Punch Clear, where she manufactures custom her tools for the press industry. She is employed as a computer numerical control machinist at her Lake-based Unipunch.
