As a beauty writer, I’ve been working with hair care products for nearly a decade and have tried dozens of shampoos and conditioners in that time. Some barely got the job done, while others worked wonders, reviving super-dry strands with much-needed moisture. Nothing compares to the completely changed method of
Although I have relatively thin hair, many I love it. But the weight of my long hair almost gave up on my natural waves, resulting in mostly straight strands. The dryness and the natural beach waves I was born with are a distant memory.
good: It cleanses the scalp and strands, enhancing hydration while washing.
Infused with hyaluronic acid and squalane, Amica Hydro Lash Intense Moisture Shampoo is formulated to lift dirt and debris and leave lasting moisture. Hyaluronic acid, also known as HA, is a molecule naturally produced by the body that hydrates hair, skin, muscle tissue, and more. That said, age and environmental aggressors (think contamination) can wreak havoc on her HA stores in the body. So supplementing your skin and hair with hyaluronic acid can make a difference in your moisturizing efforts. It can be added to hair care products to soften strands and coat them with moisture.
When I first tried Amika Hydro Rush Intense Moisture Shampoo, I immediately noticed a difference. It was also very easy to apply and a little went a long way. This is always appreciated when your hair is down to your waist. I think the conditioner is a standout product (more on that later), but the shampoo should be used on the hair and top of the scalp (the two areas where you don’t apply conditioner). It nourishes and moisturizes with just one wash.
good: Deeply nourishes and hydrates, and revitalizes hair health.
If you have chronically dry hair, conditioner is your go-to product. Amica Hydro Lash Intense Moisture Conditioner is full of surprises. Infused with squalane, hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid, coconut water, algae algae and sea buckthorn, this is the most hydrating conditioner we have ever tried. Like hyaluronic acid and squalane, polyglutamic acid is a moisturizing ingredient that actually locks in water, thus allowing it to protect against further dehydration.
Coconut water packs a punch with many hydrating properties along with its ability to strengthen hair, reduce dandruff and create softer, silkier hair. It refreshes and revitalizes hair with fatty acids, vitamin A and amino acids. Sea buckthorn is another impressive natural ingredient that benefits hair. Moisturizes hair and is one of the only plant-based sources of the fatty acid Omega 7, containing 15 times more vitamin C than an orange. All these ingredients combine to create a magical watery cocktail.
What I love about the Amica Hydro Lash Conditioner is that it’s not super thick, even though it has all the impressive hydrating ingredients. It was comparable to a heavy-duty hair mask. As soon as I washed it off, I could feel the difference in the finish. My skin felt soft, moisturized, and more elastic than usual. And when I towel-dry and comb my hair, it starts forming beachy waves and I’ve had to shrink it for the last few years.
When air-dried, some parts of my hair appeared to be wavy to accentuate my natural waves, but these were the only natural waves I had. It felt very moist and soft. This is not the norm as my hair is constantly exposed to the dry climate of Los Angeles.
