As I’ve gotten older and used to very thick and curly textures, I’ve become more open to experimenting with my hair. Truly learning to love your strands (and picking up your flat iron only once in a while) can be a long journey. Most days I embrace my natural curls now, but not always. In high school, I religiously ironed my hair almost every night. Yes, I’m sick of thinking about all the damage I’ve done to my precious locks too.
But now I’m in a better place. He still loves heat styling and trying out new hair tools when the mood changes, so in January he decided to try out some of the cult favorites on the market. We tried each tool for a week to see which one was worth the time and money. Technically, this was his 3-week experiment, but as I write this in the 4th week of January, I’m still pushing hard to use some of these tools. Keep reading for my experience with each.
