A beauty pageant organizer had to apologize because a woman on stage was wearing a yellow dress.
Pham Ngoc Phong An, 24, presented the first runner-up title to Trih Thuy Linh at the Miss Vietnam 2022 pageant on December 23rd.
2020 runner-up Phong Ahn appeared on stage wearing a light yellow embellished gown.
Photos and footage from the event showed that under the bright lights of the stage, her legs and waist appeared to be visible under the dress.
According to VN Express, many social media users weren’t happy, with one Facebook user saying: It doesn’t look good on TV. Be more careful next time. ”
But some defend Phuong Anh, saying others are simply “overreacting.”
“She was wearing a bodysuit instead of underwear underneath, so I don’t see anything inappropriate here,” one person wrote, adding: I think the organizer is responsible for this incident. They have a team that oversees the outfits and still make this happen. ”
The organizers apologized for the “unfortunate” incident and said, “It is very unfortunate that the incident happened to the costume of runner-up Pham Ngoc Phong An.
“The dress, viewed from certain angles, created an unflattering image on stage.
“And the organizers of Miss Vietnam 2022 apologize to the audience and fans for not being able to prevent the incident in advance, unexpectedly.”
Pham Kim Dung, deputy chairman of the organizing committee, argued that the costumes worn on stage were usually carefully considered before the event.
However, not all the lights were on during rehearsals, so they didn’t notice the problem with Von Anne’s dress.
She added that she hopes the public will put the incident behind them.
VN Express reported that Phuong Anh felt “embarrassed” after seeing photos on stage and apologized to viewers, saying he had learned an important lesson.
Phuong Anh is runner up in the 2020 competition.
