KINGSPORT – Billie Joe Nelson Sr., 53, of Kingsport, Tennessee, died Monday, January 23, 2023.
Originally from Kingsport, Billy spent most of his life in Northeast Tennessee. Billy worked in the transport department of Kingsport City Schools for 23 years. He also provided his CDL training for commercial operation. Billy was married to Donna Nelson for 11 years. He had his three children Billy, Hannah and Cody. He was an avid hunter who loved fishing as well as the outdoors. He also loved animals and had many pets.
Billy was predeceased by his father, the Earl of Nelson.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Donna Nelson. Sons Billie Joe Nelson Jr., Cody Nelson and daughter Hannah Nelson. his mother, Norma Jean Nelson; Siblings, Earl “JR” Nelson, Jr. (Colleen), Rick (Sonya) Nelson, Terry Nelson and Lisa. Families and friends will welcome friends at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm and will be officiated by Bill Cody.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Petworks Animal Shelter in Kingsport in Billy’s name.
