Orange Meadows Shopping Center is set to acquire two new tenants later this year.
Bob’s Discount Furniture and Ulta Beauty will move to the shopping center later this year, according to town officials. Orange Meadows is located at the intersection of Peck Lane and Boston Post Road.
Annemarie Sliby, executive director of Orange Economic Development Corp., said Bob’s Discount Furniture will move into the space previously occupied by Julia’s Bakery and Anytime Fitness. Julia’s Bakery will close at the end of 2022 after his 32 years in Orange.
Ulta Beauty will occupy about 11,000 square feet of space in a shopping center previously leased by women’s clothing retailer Talbots, Sliby said.
Bobs will move to Orange Meadow Center this fall, according to Chris Day, senior vice president of real estate for the Manchester-based furniture retailer. Day said Bob’s has had a store in Orange since 1995, and Orange He opened a store at 515 Boston Post Road, just outside the Meadows.
“This new location offers Bob’s the opportunity to give customers and associates a fresh new store to shop and work in the markets Bob’s is known for,” said Day. . “The existing store is two stories and 28,000 square feet, and the new store will be on the first floor and about 24,000 square feet. We are looking forward to showing you our fresh products. New look.”
Another advantage of the new location is that it has more parking spaces than the current location. Orange Meadows has 551 parking spaces.
Orange Meadows is backed by Trader Joe’s and TJMaxx, and the presence of those two retailers will allow Bob’s to draw more foot traffic than its current location, Sliby said.
Sliby said it was unclear which existing Ulta Beauty stores would relocate to the Orange Meadows space. The two existing Ulta Beauty locations closest to Orange are Milford’s Connectricut Post Mall and the former Westfield Trumbull. It’s in the mall.
With the arrival of new tenants, Orange Meadows will be fully occupied, according to online leasing materials from Urstadt Biddle Properties, owner of the Greenwich-based shopping center. Urstadt Biddle officials were not immediately available to comment on exactly when the two new stores will open.
Also, Bob’s move puts it on the same side of Boston Post Road as its retail furniture competitors. He has nine furniture stores within a mile of the intersection of Pecklane and Boston Post Road, and most are located on the south side of Boston Post Road, making it easier for consumers to compare shopping, he said. Sliby said.
