DOG HAIR, a brand new 3-hander for the Seventh Sense Theater by emerging working-class author Philip Jones, will premiere at the VAULT Festival from February 3-5, 2023.
DOG HAIR is a witty and devastating new 3-hand from budding Welsh working-class author Philip Jones. After SON’s Nan’s death, SON returned to his hometown, but MIKE, who is not local and is MAM’s boyfriend, had a different idea of what was best for them. SON struggles to contain his growing grief, tensions with MIKE escalate, and he is only a short time away from tax collection. Confused, angry and hurt, the son is forced to face a question. Full of wit, warmth, unconventional working-class charm, bite and kindness, DOG HAIR explores the struggle between place and identity, and how “how far from home you are in your clothes.” is always covered with dog hair.” . (which may also contain instances of genesis).
DOG HAIR was written by Phillip Jones (BWL BOY – BBC Wales, Best Actor: It’s My Shout for PACKAGED – BBC Wales) and I (Associate Producer: WHOLE, Wildcard Theater winner) for 7th Sense Theater RUCKUS). A company that exists to create a “class theater without division”.
