If you’re looking to change your hairstyle in 2023, there are three key cuts that are likely to trend, according to celebrity hairstylists. The ‘statement’ haircut is set to hit the mark, recalling the styles that were popular from the 1990s to his 2000s.
Sam Burnett, hair stylist and owner of Hare and Bone, told Express.co.uk that choppy layers are likely to make a comeback. These fancy hairstyles are not only catwalk favorites, but they work wonders for highlighting certain facial features.
Sam explains:
Mullet was described by GQ as a “must-have” hair trend for 2022. However, if you feel that a bold cut is too much of a leap, you can opt for a softer approach that complements your face. says Sam.

Short statement hair is especially “impressive” when it’s cut “to the length between your cheekbones and your jawline,” Sam added. For a particularly graphic bob, he recommends a minimum of layers.
The bob placement means it can frame the face and define bone structure, while the length and lack of layers can add fullness to the hair.
For those who prefer to stay rock long, Jay predicts that “glam girl punk” will continue to be in vogue.
Bouncy blowouts, favored by celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Kendall Jenner, are another hairstyle that has stolen some of its voluminous features from 1990s hair trends.
“Think volume, layers, bouncy curls and lots of movement to achieve this on-trend look,” said Jay.
If 2023 is the year you want big changes, Jay recommends taking small steps at first, especially if you’re feeling anxious. “When it comes to changing hairstyles, it’s perfectly normal to be nervous or anxious about trying out a new style,” he said.
“My advice is to try the subtle things first so that you can make yourself comfortable. Try adding depth.”
