She brought it a little closer.
A mom TikToker decided to give her boy a buzz cut in the hope that his hair would grow thicker in the future. Now, a video of her newly shaved newborn has gone viral, garnering over 1.2 million views and sparking a lot of skepticism.
“I will shave my sons’ heads and let their hair grow thick without telling anyone, [is] Even more,” she scribbled a quick clip.
“He will thank me later…my mom did this to my brothers and they all have the best hair in the family,” she wrote.
Viewers were quick to voice their opinions, the majority of which were negative.
“It’s not how it works, it’s just a myth,” said one unforced hair viewer, echoing the general consensus in the Western medical community.
“It gives a fuller look…because you blunt the edges.”
“My mom did this and I wish she didn’t,” one viewer commented, but didn’t go into details.
Someone else agreed and said: “It’s no good…a waste of time unfortunately.”
Still, some were quick to offer their support.
“My mom has done this to me three times… I can’t thank her enough,” confessed one of the TikTokers.
Cutting off the mane doesn’t actually change its thickness, color, or growth rate, according to the Mayo Clinic. However, shaving the scalp can cause the ends of the hair to become blunt, making the hair appear unshaven and fuller.

Follicular stupidity unfolded on the heels of many mothers posting frowned upon TikTok videos, including one allowing their children to eat food off the floor like farm animals.
TikTok user Raquel Tolman throws his son’s food on the floor so he can eat it on the ground.
“When I’m sick, I like to give my baby treats like chickens.” “He loves it.”
Commentators slammed her, calling the situation “humiliating and disgusting”.
“Sick or not, I would never treat my child so disrespectfully,” sneered another user.
