When was the last time you cut your own hair?
If you thought only teens would pull out scissors in front of the bathroom mirror, think again.
TikTok has created some wild trends at the time, and the latest hairstyle to hit the like button is the butterfly cut.
People have their hair parted into two high ponytails and cropped for a feathery, layered look.
Seduced by a popular trend, TikTok user Rae decided to break her long luscious locks, but her plan didn’t pan out.
The brunette beauty documented the process in two videos and surprised her thousands of followers.
Ray cuts his waist-length hair using something like kitchen shears.
First, part your bangs away from your face and tie them all the way to the navel.
With your hair tied up, grab your scissors, pick a spot to cut, and start cutting until a large clump of hair falls to the floor.
The video cuts to Rey looking frightened at the sight of chopped hair, stating:
She returns to TikTok for Part 2. Viewers can see her parted and the back part of her hair tied into a high ponytail.
She uses the clipped hair as a guide for where to cut it and begins to panic.
“I’m having another heart attack,” she declares. “Don’t do this at home because you might not want to see it.”
Gathering courage, Ray removes the bobble from his hair and drops it over his shoulder.

“I’m fine,” she said, squinting anxiously at the camera.
“Wait, what’s going on? Why is this a little long?” she asks, pulling a section of ragged hair.
Ray thinks for a moment, then cuts off a few more inches of hair to make it even.
However, that doesn’t work, and more random long strands of hair stick out, as if to mock her.
“Stop stressing,” she tells herself, now modeling a fresh cut above her chest.
In a later video, Ray admitted to regretting his actions, and her followers were quick to share their opinions.
“I’m scared,” declared one shocked user.
“That’s a hair hack for me. I get heart palpitations,” he replied momentarily.
But others said something kinder.
“That’s giving Beyoncé,” one woman gushed.
“Joe Wilson Gray Anatomy Vibes,” another chime rang.
Many users referred to Rey’s experience as a “Britney moment,” with one final user stating that they were “giving Cheryl Tweedy.”
