Oscar-winner Julianne Moore takes a controlled approach to her beauty ritual, a methodology she started at a young age. She didn’t let us out on the beach until after 3:00, so the 62-year-old star has long been diligent about taking care of her skin and properly protecting it. “As I’ve gotten older, my skincare routine has become more complex,” she says with a laugh. Today, Moore guides us through her daily routine, from softening her fine lines to performing foolproof brow techniques.
Moore to star in Thriller sharplaunches on February 10th and starts with cetaphil cleanser, a go-anywhere formula you can take despite your busy travel schedule. Instead of a traditional tenugui, use a mesh bamboo washi paper to gently exfoliate with a cleanser massage. “Don’t rub too hard,” she instructs. Once the skin is ready, it’s time for makeup. “I don’t like a lot of coverage. I like seeing freckles on my skin and even my skin tone,” she says. To get this effect, she blends in an hourglass light-diffusing foundation, then switches to a crease-resistant concealer. “This is also an area that bothered me when I was younger, but now I don’t really care.” Brow uses her pencil to shape the arch. (Pro tip: Place your pinky finger over your nose and etch with a steady hand, then add foundation to diffuse any harsh lines.) Eyelash curlers, a coat of mascara, and bronzer-like eyeshadow pigment help her Her cheeks and lips, in contrast, have a rosy glow thanks to two types of multi-purpose blush pigments. “People always think that redheads look good with peaches and oranges. ‘ she says.
Normally, Moore would stop here for daytime wear, but she added a swipe of bright red lipstick to spice things up at night. She is following her path with stylish fashion.
