If you’re looking to look elegant and chic this New Year’s Eve, look no further than Kate’s makeup routine, which can be replicated using inexpensive, simple products and techniques. Express.co.uk spoke to his make-up artist about what Kate is likely to use on her face to maintain a ‘youthful’ glow.
Saffron Hughes of FalseEyelashes.co.uk analyzed Kate’s makeup to estimate which products and techniques the princess uses for both her everyday engagements and special occasions.
She explained that Kate is always seen with a little bit of powder and with dewy, glowing skin.
“One of the biggest contributions to Kate’s youthful appearance is her dewy, glowing skin,” she said.
“Heavy powders can settle into fine lines on the face and exaggerate the appearance of wrinkles, so Kate opts for sheer, shimmery foundations or tinted moisturizers instead.

“This rule applies to other face products as well. Liquid formulas of blush and bronzer can give you that glowing look from within that Kate seems to be so well off with.”
“Use your fingertips to apply a small amount of liquid highlighter to the high cheekbones for an extra boost of face lift.”
As well as her flawless complexion, Kate is known for her thick, dark eyebrows.
Saffron continues:
Do not miss it:
“Brows tend to become sparse as we age, so filling them in with a thin pencil can help you look more youthful.
“Puffy brows can also distract from wrinkles and signs of aging under your eyes.”
Regarding her makeup in general, Saffron said Kate has a “classic and timeless” look.
“Instead of following luxury trends, Kate follows clear rules that compliment oval face shapes and skin textures.

“Makeup trends change over time, and adding unnecessary makeup can change your look for ages.”
Kate’s hair is also part of her beauty, and beauty blog BeautyAnswers.co.uk’s Melissa Austin shared her best hair tips for thick wavy tresses.
She told Express.co.uk: Just like your body needs nourishment to grow, so does your hair.
“Encourage growth from the inside out and give your body the right nutrients. You can also purchase specific vitamin supplements to support healthy hair growth.”
Melissa added that it was “all about creating volume” when it came to “recreating Kate’s iconic waves.”
She continues:
“From here, you can use a hair dryer and a barrel brush to create a bouncy blow-dry. Start by carefully curling your hair around the barrel brush, aiming the hair dryer first at the roots, then Carefully drag it down to create curls.
‘Waving your hair with large barrel curlers also works well. Part your hair and wrap it around curling tongs away from your face, then secure your hair with the curlers and let it cool for longer waves.’
