In honor of International Mentoring Day, Kerastase, the leading luxury hair care brand for professionals, has partnered with mentorship nonprofit Step Up to launch Power Talks in the United States.
Step Up works to provide a structure for girls (and those who identify with Girls’ Generation) to define their own vision of success, providing support and a safe haven as they navigate their way. The initiative aims to empower more young women to confidently define and achieve success on their own terms. Global research by Brand shows that women believe they have less self-confidence than men, making it harder for them to claim higher pay, promotion or equal opportunity. Power Talks aims to bridge this trust gap between men and women through mentorship, education, and inspiring discussion. The “Power Talks” program consists of “flash mentoring” sessions hosted by women for women, where her single powerful exchange between mentor and mentee can have a lasting impact. It’s based on the idea that you can. The program pairs a mentor and mentee for short-term, targeted, skill-based mentoring her sessions to help build confidence in the first critical moments of a career. This format promotes concise yet impactful knowledge sharing.

Women with mentors are 74% more likely to be confident and young people with mentors are 130% more likely to be in leadership positions. I self-reported that I did. 80% growth in self-awareness; 73% increase in skills.
