carbon neutral

Actor Brad Pitt has launched Le Domaine, a new skincare line with 96% and 99% naturally derived ingredients. The product line features two patented active ingredients, GSM10 and ProGR3, and is free of blacklisted ingredients such as parabens, silicones, microplastics, mineral and synthetic oils, and animal-derived ingredients. Farmacy Beauty has pledged to use 100% upcycled ingredients in its new products, including about 2 tons of waste that could end up in landfills. Additionally, the newly launched 10% Niacinamide Night Mask is made with upcycled blueberry seed oil extract that is discarded by the food industry when making jams and candies.
sustainable packaging
Kerastase debuts the first-ever 100% recycled and recyclable aluminum bottle that can be packed into a lightweight eco pouch that uses 82% less plastic. Bottles can also be personalized with engraving.
Procter & Gamble hair care brands Head & Shoulders, Pantene, Herbal Essences and Aussie launched the first paper packaging innovations in the form of shampoo and conditioner bars. The bars are formulated so that one bar is equivalent to two 250ml bottles of liquid shampoo.
Johnson & Johnson’s Baby’s new line of refills are available in recyclable, paper-based cartons that contain 90% less plastic than existing baby toiletry bottles.
water and ocean conservation
Mary Kay has joined the United Nations Global Compact Ocean Stewardship Coalition, which seeks to leverage private sector engagement to raise awareness of ocean health.
Shiseido has partnered with the World Surf League to launch the Shiseido x WSL Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion SPF 50+ and Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+. A portion of the sales will be donated to the WSL’s efforts to improve ocean conservation.

Target has introduced Target Zero, a new program aimed at helping consumers identify products designed to reduce waste.
