He abruptly ended the program just a week after starting it, revealing that he had been hospitalized for stress-induced psychosis.
The former reality star looked miles different than his time on the ITV2 dating show.
He sported long curly tresses with blond highlights at the bottom and noticeably thicker facial hair.
Niall opened up about his “battle” with autism, saying he often felt “embarrassed” about it.

He wrote: “I haven’t posted while it’s been Autism Awareness/Acceptance Month, but I’m sure most people who follow me here are aware of my diagnosis.” I know that there are
“The truth is that it can sometimes be difficult to talk about your experience with autism online in a positive light.
“Being autistic has been a struggle my entire life. I started taking antidepressants at age 10. School was terribly confusing, with little help or understanding, and as I got older , I was often ashamed of it.”
The star also spoke about spending time in a mental hospital – which he described as “the worst experience” of his life.
Niall continues:
“I was ignored and had to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital with psychosis. I can only describe it as the worst experience of my life, but it was covered up afterwards.
“I have overcome many obstacles and am proud of many things, but like many people with autism, I never tried to change anything, but I always wore a mask to understand. Tired of trying.Everything is great for others and I think I look like a cool lion here Thank you 🦁💙 #autismawareness”
He was inundated with kind comments praising him for opening up.
“You are a fellow inspiration. Keep doing your thing 💪🏻.”

Neil has Asperger’s Syndrome, and his boss at the time knew about it, but he opens up about his Love Island experience in a new TikTok video.
He explained how autism spectrum disorder (ASD) meant he had certain “coping mechanisms” he was unable to use, such as talking to himself and isolation.
He previously told viewers: “Once I got there, I became more and more stressed about what was going on around me, and I started using coping mechanisms.
“As someone with autism, I don’t know if other people are the same, but I would often talk to myself and cut myself off from the group.
“I often went to the balcony to try and escape the environment, but I couldn’t escape. Obviously, this isn’t funny and people want funny scenes.
“People would come up to me and try to have fake conversations and stuff like that. You know: ‘Brother, who do you like now? Is that your type?’ what’s a bear?”
The shocking allegations came just days after Niall blamed the “setup” scene for causing Love Island’s exit.

A representative for Love Island told The Sun:
“Coming out and talking about my Asperger’s and being diagnosed at 10 was the reason I left Love Island,” Niall said of his departure from the show.
