If you’re not a night owl, the 28th annual Critics’ Choice Awards took place overnight at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Do you know what this means? I mean, loads have taken us to a glamorous red carpet with (yet another) gawjus beauty…unpacking. And under the microscope today is the one and only Michelle Williams, who has come out with a hairstyle that proves to suit locks of any length.
For as long as we can remember, the actor rocked short, cropped hair that now sits just above chin length. Now, as a fellow short-haired girlie, I often straighten my locks. However, last night’s Michelle’s ‘S’ wave looks nothing like a 19th-century Victorian child… IYKYK.
Michelle’s makeup artist, Angela Levin, posted a before-and-after video of the process on Instagram, showing how she and hairstylist Chris McMillan created such a glamour.IG below. See reel.
So going from pin straight rock to effortless waves is quite a change.
People ask me, “But what is the ‘S’ wave style?” It may sound complicated, but it’s quite the opposite. All it requires is to use a straightener over the hair that has been bent into an “S” shape.
First, use the tool to carefully tap the strands to set their shape while holding a “C”-like curve. Continue by and run straight over it with a tap motion. Forget the C and S, it’s EZ as best you can…sorry.
Blue Mondays aside, this hairstyle is bound to come to life on a gloomy January day *blowing out hair straighteners*.
