Since arriving in the area, Arthur Schmidt has had his hair cut by Laurie Bernhardt at Just Cuts in Reed City. Barnhart said he used to get his hair cut on top of Reed City Hardware, and Schmidt said many barbers have come and gone.
“It’s been five or six years since Arthur came to me,” she said, adding that she was probably the only one within a 15-mile radius.
