Shawn Mendes fans might be begging for “Mercy” after seeing his latest look!
The 24-year-old singer-songwriter stepped out in Los Angeles on Saturday to debut a brand new topical cut and a departure from his signature rock.
Showing off his freshly shaved head, Mendez rocked a cozy cardigan, scarf, and baggy pants.
New is new territory for Mendes, who rocked several iterations of medium-length thick curly hairstyles over the course of his career. However, it has never completely disappeared.

Fans no longer have to “wonder” what a musician would look like in a short trim, but Mendes himself wasn’t always open to the idea. I tweeted about sex, but I wasn’t very enthusiastic about it.
“I had a startling dream that someone took all my hair off.” he wrote.

There has been no shortage of topical cuts in the entertainment industry in recent months. While Mendes’ makeover marks his first big change for 2023, Patrick Dempsey decided to unlock his December and chose his own buzz.
The Emmy-nominated 56-year-old could be seen cleaning up his look last month in an Instagram video shared by his wife, makeup artist and hairstylist Jillian Dempsey. .
Gillian called the move an “instantaneous” change and a “rebirth” for a star whose roots were difficult to manage at the time. I dyed it back, but it wasn’t the natural ‘sesame salt’ color we know and love,” she told PEOPLE. We needed to give him a fresh, short start in order to make it work.”
Gillian added that a buzz cut is “worth a try,” but that it ultimately “depends on the shape of your head.”
“Patrick is a fearless character and I can do just about anything with his hair,” she continued, adding that she’s been cutting her husband’s hair since 1995. Just this past Halloween, before re-dying his hair from platinum, he let me dye it orange. ”
As for Mendes, his last big chop came in early 2021 when he stepped away from the pandemic hair he grew out of and reverted to his signature look. wrote at the time.
