This time it’s her turn for her pasta strainer hair hack that creator Liz Fox Roseberry aka @foxcraftcustom casually shared on her page three days ago. There is some debate in the comments about whether the tool for the job is a “sieve” or a “pasta strainer”, but the overwhelming consensus is that people are on board. Some questioned how hygienic the hack was (“That’s why I don’t eat at people’s homes. [sic]said one user), while others were quick to add their own tips for the hack.
Given the very impressive end result, people in the comments claim it’s a lot cheaper than buying an expensive diffuser attachment, so it makes sense that the hack is blowing up.
As for the pros thinking, they get it… kinda. “Using a pasta strainer works just like a diffuser attachment,” explains Jason Collier, hairstylist and brand-his educator at Jerome Russell BBlonde. “Because the heat is evenly distributed to the curls, the curl pattern is not compromised, and the air circulates, giving the hair a more air-dry effect.” But they also recommend sticking to the hair tools. “You don’t have to look in the kitchen cupboards,” Jason says. “With proper styling, you can keep the strainer for pasta.”
Jason recommends keeping things calm. “When you dry your curls, use a diffuser, but do it gently. You can get overly enthusiastic with scrunch which can increase frizz,” he says, adding, “It keeps curls hydrated.
