My son Mark got engaged to the delightful Lizzie Hogan this summer! Over the weekend of celebrations, dates and locations were wandering before deciding on a destination wedding in November 2023. “You’ll have plenty of time later to do your best for this,” I said to myself.
That was before I met Tomi Beckemeyer, co-owner of SkinBody Nashville. With over 30 years of experience in the aesthetic field, Tomi is also the owner of SkinBody Memphis. After spending just a few minutes with Tomi, it became clear that Tomi is passionate about making everyone’s skin beautiful.
“This is an exciting time for all involved,” Tomi told me, offering facts I hadn’t thought of. Tomi, who introduced us to the We want to help women look their best during this time. ”
consultation
Griffin and Brit showed me to the room where I did my first skin analysis on the VISIA machine. With my chin in the cradle, a state-of-the-art device rotated around my face to capture, classify, and assess my surface skin type and condition. The report appeared almost immediately, with eight images of what conditions were “graded”, where they were on or under the skin, and how they ranked compared to other women of the same age. was shown. Some results were encouraging, such as wrinkles and pores. Quite upsetting. My red and brown spots ranked abysmal – it’s time to talk about next steps! I loaded it.
treatment
I was interested in a non-surgical facelift, so Brit explained several options available at SkinBody Nashville. Agnes RFis a non-surgical high-frequency device that tightens and lifts the skin, significantly reduces wrinkles, treats eye bags and circles, and at the same time Scarlet RF, a combination of microneedles and radiofrequency therapy. On the day, Brit gently guided us through each process. I started with Agnes RF to firm and remove fat from my neck and chin. Micro-insulated needles deliver energy to the fat pads to permanently reduce them while tightening the skin. Next is Scarlet RF, which increases collagen, tightens skin, and improves skin elasticity and texture. These were much gentler treatment options than chemical peels and some lasers. It does not damage the outer surface of the skin or attack the underlying melanin.
From start to finish, these procedures took about two and a half hours, but I was able to walk home on my own with little pain. I had swelling along my jawline for about a week, but the tingling under my skin was an exciting sign of progress.
Then, due to the tan and redness under the skin, Griffin and I chose Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatment. Similar to laser treatment, IPL delivers multiple wavelengths of light energy instead of a single light energy to treat larger areas of the skin in less time. An IPL can take up to 45 minutes. It was almost painless and I saw results in less than an hour. For a few days I experienced the most noticeable healing process, but luckily I was able to wear makeup.
Tommy’s last suggestion was to NeoGen plasma skin regenerationAlso PSR (non-surgical facelift). Her PSR, a one-hour skin regeneration procedure, stimulated the production of collagen and elastin without destroying skin tissue. A pink face turned to the mirror where I thought my bright red skin was waiting for me. Post-PSR care was the most difficult, but not difficult. When glowing skin was in mind, it was worth the effort. The peeling and healing was mild. The skin flakes off, isn’t as noticeable under tinted sunscreen, and fades away in about 10 days.
Conclusion
Six weeks later, I returned for a follow-up visit and VISIA analysis. My results have been amazing! Overall, my skin ages by 6 years and everything continues to improve as the increased collagen and elastin work their magic. I didn’t have to tell the machine. The dark circles under my eyes are almost gone and my skin is glowing. I liked that all procedures were non-surgical and non-invasive. Rather than altering the topography of my face, my skin cells worked to make me look better. Downtime was minimal and post-op care was easy. I will, and probably will, redo all of these steps—the wedding will be here without me knowing!
