A railroad worker rescues a male raccoon frozen on the tracks.
The animal was seen facing an oncoming train carriage when straddling one side of the track.
Neil Maris was on his way to work when he ran into a poor little man.
The traumatized raccoon was finally rescued after five minutes of surgery.
“I poured warm water down his butt while a colleague tried to untie him with a shovel under his butt,” said the 35-year-old.
“After slowly letting him loose for about five minutes, he was free. He jumped off the rail and ran through the woods without looking back.”
Despite rescue efforts by Neil and his colleagues, no one knew how or why the raccoon got into this predicament near Cochrane, Georgia.
“Maybe it was because it was 10 degrees outside, but somehow he was going over the rails and sat for too long and got stuck!” said Neil.

After examining the clump of fur that remained stuck to the rail, Neil summarized:
“This guy is safe now.”
