South Korean fashion retail giant Shinsegae International has appointed former Gucci chief financial officer William Kim as its new CEO.
Kim will succeed Lee Gil-han, vice president of Shinsegae International, as the head of the future innovation promotion team, the newly established department store division.
In his new role, Kim will oversee the introduction of new international brands, business development through mergers and acquisitions, and e-commerce operations. He also works as his GM of Digital Intelligence, managing digital and online business growth in the department store sector.
The appointment of the new CEO is described as part of a strategy to strengthen Shinsegae International’s fashion and cosmetics business.
Aside from Gucci, Kim joined All Saints as CEO in 2012 after spending seven years as senior vice president of digital commerce at British fashion house Burberry, where he managed the near-bankruptcy brand with 230 stores worldwide. turned into a brand. Last year, the Korean-American expert was named CEO of British global cycling apparel brand Rapha.
Last month, Shinsegae International expanded its beauty brand portfolio, securing distribution rights to Laura Mercier and hair care brand Davines in South Korea.
