Among other functions, this ingredient supports the concept of anti-dandruff. It has also been reported to be effective in products for acne-prone and oily skin.
This ingredient is suitable for rinse-off or leave-on formulations such as hair care and skin care. According to Symrise, this would be the perfect addition to their hygiene ingredients portfolio. It also offers a China-compliant alternative to the anti-dandruff active zinc pyrithione, which was recently banned from cosmetics in the European Union.
This decylene glycol is the most lipophilic of Symrise’s 1,2-alkanediols series. SymClariol’s combination of physico-chemical properties and antimicrobial activity is said to make it an ideal cosmetic ingredient for skin protection rather than a product.
