Tracee Ellis Ross is enjoying her new decade of life!
in an interview with todayAiring Monday, the Emmy nominee spoke about the joy of turning 50, a milestone she reached in October.
Compare her enthusiasm to Molly Shannon’s saturday night live “Sally O’Malley” bit — The comedian yells, “I’m 50 and I like to kick!” — Ross said he’s stepping into his confidence.
“I think I’m the sexiest I’ve ever been. I feel great and I feel like the world is my oyster,” she shared.
Ross also recalled her 16 years of television appearances, including the 2000s sitcom girl friend and ABC comedy darkrevealing that she is “closing the chapter” and is ready to live her own story.
Still, the actress still has a bucket list full of things she wants to achieve and see on the next stage, including starring in an action movie, writing a book, and finding a lifelong partner.
Regarding the latter criterion, she concluded: (In short, it’s her world and we just live in it.)
But Ross has already completed one bullet point on his resume. he is a beauty entrepreneur.
This week, she launched three new products for her curly hair care brand, Pattern Beauty. The first heat tool in the line is Blow Her Dryer, complemented by Heat Protectant Spray and Shine Spray Mist.
Speaking to PEOPLE about the new drop, Ross shared that the entire philosophy behind her brand and its products speaks to self-expression learned from her mother and fashion icon, Diana Ross.
“That’s how I saw beauty grow when I saw my mother [Diana Ross]It was a way for her to transform into another version of herself that was ‘this is me’ rather than ‘look at me’. I did,” said Ross.
Also inspired by activist Arok’s definition of beauty, Ross recalled being “a trace of the soul,” the Founder and CEO of Pattern created her own form.
“So I believe beauty is a holistic experience and self-care. I feel that hair care is self-care, so I incorporated that into the pattern. One,” she explained.

“It’s really a form of self-expression and embracing who you are and your heritage. That’s what I feel about beauty. It’s very exciting and fun to explore what the beauty experience is,” she concluded.
