Twitter users remain perplexed by the latest theatrical poster for Milestone’s anniversary of the film, which debuted Tuesday, in which the lead actress appears to sport two completely different hairstyles.
In the remastered poster from the original 1997 film, Leonardo DiCaprio (Jack) is seen embracing Winslet (Rose), his head turned to the side for a profile view. But what’s confusing is her actress hair. On her camera-facing side, it appears curled and pulled in an updo, while on the other side, her hair is pulled down and looks like much more loose waves.
“Really highlighting that Kate Winslet has two different hairstyles here,” wrote one confused user twitter.
“What’s going on with Kate Winslet’s hair?” another person wonderedcalled the hairstyle “reverse mullet”.
While some online users seemed to think that Winslet’s hair wacky look was simply a poor job of Photoshop, others thought it symbolized Rose’s character duality throughout the film. I was pretty sure the poster could have been designed that way to do that.
