An Oakland barber reunited his family after he posted on TikTok about cutting the hair of a homeless man.
Caleb Heke worked six days at Kirkwoods Barbers in Mount Wellington, and spent the seventh day volunteering to cut the hair of homeless people in Auckland.
Last week, Heke posted on TikTok cutting a rough man’s hair in the Auckland CBD.
But this time he had an unexpected result – reuniting the man with his family.

Caleb Heke posts TikTok videos of his hairdressing, including videos of volunteers cutting homeless people’s hair.
Heke’s barber TikTok video gets hundreds of thousands of views. Especially the video of him cutting the hair of homeless people.
The footage showed Zayn Khan, who Heke believes is in his late 20s, lying on a bench in Fort Street in the CBD, with a dark bushy mane and beard.
Heke gave an interview when Khan got his hair cut and Zane said he spent 10 months in prison and is now looking for a job in hospitality.

Heke received comments and messages asking where people could find Khan.
“I’m just hanging out on tour in Auckland, but I don’t have a place right now.”
According to Heke, the haircut helped Khan regain her confidence and also gave her cash to buy clothes.
As soon as Heke posted the video, he began receiving messages and comments from Khan’s friends and family who had lost contact with him.
“My cousin Zayn, I love you so much. I want to bring him home so please let me know if there is a way I can contact you,” she commented.
Heke led them to the Auckland CBD where they found Khan.

Heke said Zayn’s father showed up at the Kilikwood barbershop to thank Heke after he was reunited with his son.
Then on Friday a man came into Kirkwoods.
“I was trying to figure out who it was and was like ‘OK…'”
The man asked if he was Caleb and when Heke pulled him aside, the man started crying and said he was Monis Khan, Khan’s father. Found Karn in
“I began to feel overwhelming joy and sadness at the same time.
“I hugged him, that was all I could do,” he said.
Heke went to see Khan again and took a picture with him and his father.
“I didn’t know how to feel.”

Heke posed for a photo with Zane and his father and said he was overwhelmed by the reunion with his family.
“My family is happy, Zane is happy, all good things that I was a little involved in what happened yesterday.”

“It feels overwhelming at times.”
Monis Khan said the reunion was really moving and moving.
Khan said his son, who had been in prison for robbery, was not doing well, going up and down from day to day.
