To wrap up 2022, chess grandmaster Magnus Carlsen has won all three titles: Classic, Rapid and Blitz World Champion.
After the win, the grandmaster was interviewed by India’s IM Sagar Shah to reveal interesting facts about his game, strategy and plans for 2023.
Asked about the hairstyle’s inspiration, Carlsen told Sagar that it was inspired by the Norwegian captain at the Chennai Olympics.

“It’s actually the Norwegian captain at the Chennai Olympics … He said I should keep growing my hair out, so I was sure I would be fine.”
When asked if she would keep growing her hair out, Carlsen said, “So now I don’t know where it’s going… I’ll probably cut it someday, but for now it’s fine.
Carlsen won the World Rapid and World Blitz Championships in the last week of December.
In the final round match against Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Carlsen broke through with a hand of 14.g4. This was an idea introduced by wacky genius Bobby Fischer and made famous in his 1970 bout with Anderson.
