Hair cycling is the latest beauty trend to emerge from social media, promising a healthy scalp and shiny hair.
At this stage, you may be familiar with Skin Cycling, a 3-4 night routine to smooth and brighten your complexion. This version of hair is a bit like that.
This isn’t a difficult system for hair to follow, it takes advantage of the big new trends emerging in hair in 2023 that focus on scalp care and rejuvenation.
Hair cycling methods can be tailored to suit your hair type, how you wash it, and your lifestyle, but there are basic methods that add an addition or two to your regular hair care regimen.
hair cycle products

Before you start hair cycling, think about your hair needs and what you want to control or modify to make it look and feel healthier.
Whether you need to deal with frizz or damage from heat styling, or have coarse, unruly hair that needs to be tamed, all of this will determine the type of hair care you should use.
Save these products for step 2 of the process, as they may already be in your shower stall. The real magic happens in step 1 of hair cycling. This is where you may need to buy a new one specifically for your scalp.
Method – Step 1

Step 1 of hair cycling is a deep cleansing and clearing of the scalp to remove excess product, oil and dead skin cells that cause hair to flake.
For this, you’ll need an exfoliating scalp treatment like The Inkey List Salicylic Acid Treatment, which contains 2% deeply exfoliating acids along with panthenol to moisturize your hair.
Apply this serum to your scalp before washing your hair and leave it on for 10 minutes before double-cleansing your hair with a mild or moisturizing shampoo to wash away debris from both your scalp and hair. Step 1 with Hydrating Conditioner complete.
step 2

Depending on how often you wash your hair, the Step 2 session of Hair Cycling is a day or two after the first step. For this reason, skip the scalp treatment and go straight to repair mode, as excessive exfoliation of the scalp is unnecessary.
Again, double cleanse your hair by washing it twice with your preferred type of shampoo for your hair type. Once this works its magic, rinse and as a final step use a bond-building product like Olaplex No9 (serum) or No6 (cream), or K18, depending on your hair type.
The process of hair cycling incorporates many elements of a better hair care regime, from exfoliating to hydrating, repairing, and recovering from all the damage it inflicts on your hair. So you should continue to improve the health and strength of your hair in the coming months. As they say, a happy scalp will grow better hair.
