Brookfield, Wisconsin — Crime has spread across the country and is now occurring in southeastern Wisconsin. In just one week, three Ulta Beauty stores were targeted in shoplifting schemes at three different locations: Mount Pleasant, Brookfield, and most recently, Menomonee Falls.
Molly Schultz said: “It’s disappointing to learn that crimes like this are happening in the stores we shop at every day.
Last week, Schultz was shopping inside Brookfield’s Ulta Beauty store when he saw the entire theft unfold before his eyes.
“As I was about to walk out the door, two masked men walked in. They looked like they were up to something,” Schultz said. “The next thing I knew, they were taking out bags and wiping every shelf of perfume out of the house.”
She pulled out her cell phone and filmed a video of the incident before the suspect rushed out the door.
“naI got stuck and called the police. I sent the video to the store manager and the police who were there,” Schultz said.
Eileen Ziesmer, vice president of public affairs for Ulta, said in a statement: It looks much better.”
“Organized retail crime impacts manufacturers, consumers, employees and communities. As our product range, store footprint and brand awareness grow, Ulta Beauty will increasingly target these criminals. The always-on nature of social media makes these crimes more visible. The safety of our customers and employees is always our top priority. Our policies and practices reflect the evolving retail landscape, including a range of best practices and training to ensure guest and employee safety while working to mitigate threats. The Vsion team will continue to work with law enforcement and other retailers to address and solve many complex cases, both large and small, and bring criminals to justice.”

“naI definitely think social media has a negative impact on things like this,” Schultz said. People post it, see someone else doing it, and think, ‘Oh, they overdone it, so I can do it. ”
Police have so far not arrested anyone for the theft. A representative for Ulta Beauty said the loss prevention team will work closely with law enforcement and other retailers to close many complex cases and bring criminals to justice.
