Zion Williamson continued his phenomenal season with the New Orleans Pelicans in Wednesday’s win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He poured in a career-high 43 points and completely dominated the Wolves as the Pelicans narrowly escaped with a 119-118 victory after Anthony Edwards misfired on a potential game-winner for the Wolves. He also scored the Pelicans’ final 14 points, prompting his teammate CJ McCollum to reveal the team’s hilarious game plan in one fell swoop.Williamson’s performance stood out as: his shot chart.

Williamson had 21 shots, but of those 21 shots, only two went outside the restricted area and only one went outside the paint. That only shot outside the paint was a three-pointer of his that Williamson knocked down, making him 100% perfect from his range of three-pointers in the game. Otherwise, he did all his damage within 2-3 feet of the basket. He shot 66.7 percent from the field and missed only 6 shots. He also reached his line of free throws 19 times, of which he converted 14 times.
It was a comeback for Williamson, who missed all of last season due to a foot injury. . He doesn’t shoot many 3-pointers, but when he tries his 3-pointers this season, he knocks them down with a respectable 36.8% success rate. The Pelicans finished 22-12, putting him back in first place on the Western Conference standings.
